    Restaurant Review: 5 and Diner

Lots of good restaurants in central Massachusetts, but we had covered the usual destinations -- Sakura Tokyo, Mountain Barn, Cactus Pete's, Sonoma -- pretty well.  So today the familly went to a new restaurant named 5 & Diner.

Very fun place.  1950's retro diner filled with memorabilla from the post WWII era I never lived through.  Waitresses, dressed in poodle skirts, had old-fashioned change machines around their waists and gave quarters to the kids who busied themselves with the jukebox.  The jukebox was well-stocked with songs and this was rather entertaining.  Food came in fold-up cardboard cars for the kids. For the adults, it was reasonable fare...nothing exotic or outstanding...but good.

The whole place looked like a diner true enough.  And diners have a warm place in my heart because Worcester is filled with enumerable memorable diners -- Ralph's, Lou Roc's, Miss Worcester, etc...

Overall I enjoyed the experience, and the kids and family did too.
